Prices go up as the waitlist gets longer. What you are quoted is what you pay.
How it goes
- You tell me who. A musician, a writer, a grandmother with a better story than either of us. It has to be a person. That is the only rule.
- I go reading. Looking for the thing nobody puts in the first paragraph.
- You get a quote with the size, the shipping, and a ship-by date on it. Nothing starts until you say yes.
- 50% deposit and you are in the queue. Balance is due before it ships.
- I build it and film it. Layers have to dry. That is where the weeks go.
- The piece ships to you and the film goes up.
The terms, before you ask
I would rather put these on the page than have the same conversation four times. None of it is unusual. All of it is the difference between me finishing your piece on time and me quietly drowning.
- 6 slots this cycle
- I take 6 commissions at a time and then I stop until they are done. When they are gone this form turns into a waitlist and I email you when the next cycle opens.
- 6 weeks, from cleared deposit to shipped
- That is deliberately slower than my best pace. Mixed media dries when it dries, and I would rather beat the date than apologise for it. If I am going to miss it, you hear from me before the date and not after.
- 50% deposit, non-refundable
- The rest is due before it ships. The deposit covers the panel and the materials, which get bought for your piece specifically. A portrait of your grandmother is not something I can sell to somebody else, which is also the whole reason it is worth having.
- Every commission is filmed and published
- This is the part people ask about, so plainly: I film the build and the video goes up on my channels. You get the artwork. You do not get the video file, and the video is not private. If the piece is a surprise for somebody, say so and I will hold it until after you have given it. If you would rather it was not filmed at all, this is not the right commission, and I would rather you knew that now than at the end.
- What I will not paint
- There has to be a person in it. No pets, no landscapes, no houses, no logos. And nobody I would not want to spend three weeks reading about.
